Endow Kentucky Tax Credit Expands in 2026

Kentuckians interested in endowed giving have new opportunities this year. The Endow Kentucky Tax Credit has been doubled, with a pool of $2 million available to donors who want to make a lasting impact.

Endow Kentucky allows individuals and businesses to reduce their tax bill while helping nonprofits build long-term financial stability.

You can use this tax credit to support wildlands and KNLT by contributing to one of our three endowed funds: Blue Grass Community FoundationCommunity Foundation of Louisville, and Foundation for Appalachian KY. These endowed funds generate ongoing income for our conservation mission, now and for generations to come.

The Endow Kentucky Tax Credit is applied directly against your tax bill in addition to your charitable deductions. This makes it an exceptional opportunity for many donors, but planning ahead is essential. The Kentucky Department of Revenue accepts applications beginning July 1; however you must work with your local community foundation BEFORE this window opens to ensure your application is accurate and processed in a timely fashion.

If you wish to apply or want to learn more about Endow Kentucky contact the community foundation near you today:

Eligible gifts may include cash, credit card gifts, stocks, mutual funds, tangible property, life insurance and Qualified Charitable Distributions (from qualifying IRAs for donors age 70 1/2 and older). There is no minimum gift size required to receive the credit.

Not sure if Endow Kentucky is right for you? Contact Nicole Breyette, KNLT Development Director, at [email protected] or (502) 314-4395 to learn more about the program and how you can protect wildlands with your charitable giving.
