Explore Kentucky’s Ancient Forest

March 12, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

[FULL] KNLT is teaming up with The Explore Kentucky Initiative (EKI) to lead a hike at Blanton Forest. The hike will be led by KNLT Stewardship Director, Preston Lacy and EKI Director, Gerry Seavo James. This incredible hike features the largest old growth forest in the state of Kentucky, with some trees dating to the late 1600’s! Blanton is also home to scenic overlooks, soaring cliff lines, rock shelters, and pristine mountain streams that contain the Blackside Dace, a threatened species of fish. Lace up your hiking boots, dust off your camera, and join us to learn more about this beautiful wilderness area on Pine Mountain in eastern Kentucky!

[The hike is full] Space is limited is 15 people per hike. Visit The Explore Kentucky Initiative’s website to register: www.explorekentucky.us/calendar/2017/explorekentuckysancientforest
